Alison Lloyd, Professor of Cell Biology at University College London, is a world-leading researcher on the biology and pathology of the peripheral nervous system. During her research career she has made fundamental contributions to our understanding of cellular lifespan, cell biogenesis, tissue homeostasis and regeneration. Her findings have important therapeutic implications for the treatment of nerve injuries and neuropathies and cancer. She is an influential member of the international Neurofibromatosis community. Professor Lloyd is also Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Cell Biology and is co-chair of the UCL Cancer Domain, which oversees all cancer work at UCL.
