Professor Janet Husband is Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at the Institute of Cancer Research, University of London. Her research career has been devoted to the use of cross sectional imaging, particularly computed tomography and latterly magnetic resonance imaging, to diagnose, stage and follow-up cancer. She was one of the pioneers of whole body computer tomography and published many of the seminal papers about this emerging technology in the 1980’s. Her particular scientific thrust has been the imaging of treated cancer and her imaging rules of partial response, or likely remission, have stood the test of time.
