Geraint Rees is Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at UCL. He is an international leader in the identification of the neural basis of the contents of conscious experience in humans. His contributions derive both from theoretical considerations and also the clever manipulation of functional brain imaging protocols and data analysis to visualise this hidden neural activity. Geraint plays both a local and a national role in the training of junior doctors in his position as a member of the MMC Programme Board for England and as Deputy Co-Chair of the BMA Medical Academic Committee.
