Cristina Lo Celso is Professor of Stem Cell Biology at Imperial College London. She has made numerous paradigm-shifting and impactful contributions to our understanding of the dynamic cellular processes regulating normal and malignant haematopoietic stem cells in their bone marrow niches. Her impactful discoveries stem from her interdisciplinary approach, have delivered important pre-clinical findings, and are receiving increasing attention from leading industry partners. Beyond her thriving research programme, Professor Lo Celso has been reshaping her research field through mentoring clinical and non-clinical researchers. She co-directs the Imperial College Centre for Haematology, with clinicians at multiple London hospitals and academic researchers tackling haematological disorders with the vision to strongly connect fundamental, translational and clinical research.
