Alun Davies, Professor of Vascular Surgery at Imperial College London, is a world leader in the field of management of vascular diseases.
His clinical trials have shaped national and international guidelines and made a marked impact on millions of patients on a global basis especially in the management of venous thrombosis and leg ulceration.
His important national profile is evidenced by work for NICE – chairing a guidance committee, MRHA – special vascular advisor, and the Department of Health - Venous / Vascular Lead on Evidence Based Intervention Programme. Internationally, he has advised foreign governments including the FDA, and has been integral in obtaining recognition of Phlebology as a European sub speciality with the UEMS.
