Professor Ruth Gilbert FMedSci
Ruth Gilbert is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at University College London. She is a highly successful researcher in paediatrics and epidemiology, innovating in evidence-based medicine in the 1990’s and continuing with a distinguished career which spans research achievement and impact in clinical, population, and data science.
The impact of her research on policy and practice crosses topic areas - infectious diseases, sudden death, child maltreatment, mental health; health services - from screening to intensive care; sectors - from health to education and criminal justice; countries - UK, Canada, Sweden, amongst others; and seeks to improve the lives of disadvantaged children, whilst also serving as an exemplar for other vulnerable groups.
