Professor Sir Martin Landray FMedSci
Martin Landray, Professor of Medicine & Epidemiology at the University of Oxford, is internationally recognised for his expertise in design, conduct and analysis of large, efficient randomized trials and his commitment to improving the regulatory and governance frameworks that impact on clinical research. He initiated and leads the RECOVERY trial, the largest trial of treatments for COVID-19. This landmark study identified the first, and currently only, treatment shown to save lives in COVID-19: dexamethasone which reduces the risk of death in the sickest patients.
