Marc Dweck, Professor of Clinical Cardiology at the University of Edinburgh, is a visionary clinical academic cardiologist who has shaped the investigation and management of both aortic stenosis and coronary artery disease. His work has defined clinical practice and informed international guidelines across the world. He established an international, multicentre of nearly 1000 patients from across Europe, Asia and North America to establish and to validate CT calcium scoring leading to its global adoption. He has also demonstrated an ability to work in partnership with industry working on a trial investigating lipoprotein lowering to slow aortic stenosis progression, a trial sponsored by Novartis, and where he is head of the imaging core laboratory.
