Kerry Hood is Director of the CTU Network and Dean of Research & Innovation for Biomedical & Life Sciences at Cardiff University. She is internationally recognised in health and social care research and capacity building whose pioneering clinical trial methodologies have redefined best practice for under‑represented populations, influenced national and global policies, and improved care for millions across the UK and worldwide. She has been the leading methodologist in primary‑care infectious‑disease trials in the UK for nearly three decades, and has pioneered the first NIHR‑HTA‑funded social‑care trial for people with learning disabilities, extended infections trials research into care homes, and developed new consent models that have since been adopted into NIHR and HRA guidance.
