Professor Julian Savulescu FMedSci
Julian Savulescu is Uehiro Chair in Practical Ethics at the University of Oxford. He is one of the world’s leading medical ethicists and public commentators on the ethical implications of research and translation in biomedicine. Professor Savulescu anticipates medical science's ethical needs; he established genetics ethics programmes in 1998, neuroethics in 2008, and pandemic ethics frameworks before COVID-19. His international collaborations span continents, hosting over 400 international visitors, building a worldwide scholarship network. The Masters in Practical Ethics he established attracts leaders from medicine, technology, law, and policy, including professionals from Apple, Google, and OpenAI, building sustainable research ecosystems that multiply impact across generations of scholars.
