Professor J Louise Jones FMedSci
Louise Jones is Professor of Breast Pathology at Queen Mary’s University of London. Her research is at the forefront in dissecting mechanisms of breast cancer progression, combining basic biology with tissue studies to identify functionally relevant biomarkers that can be translated into the clinic. Her commitment to translation of research into the clinic led to the establishment of the Breast Cancer Now Biobank which has more than 100,000 samples from approximately 15,000 patients and has supported research internationally with over 200 research outputs.
With the patient advocate group ‘Independent Cancer Patients' Voice’ she established the first UK science training course for patient advocates. This now attracts an international group of influential patient advocates with representatives from major cancer charities.
