Helen Cross is Prince of Wales’s Chair of Childhood Epilepsy & Director at UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health and is the pre-eminent paediatric epileptologist in the UK and a global leader. Her work on novel therapies in early onset epilepsy has transformed the lives of many children worldwide through use of the ketogenic diet, novel pharmacological treatments and specifically epilepsy surgery. She has been a role model to female academics and specifically commits to mentorship of junior researchers, establishing the Young Epilepsy Section within the International League Against Epilepsy focused on career development of epilepsy professionals of the future.
