Christine MacArthur is Professor of Maternal and Child Epidemiology at the University of Birmingham and is a leading researcher in women’s and childbirth related health. She led seminal studies that followed over 11,000 mothers up to nine years after pregnancy identifying significant long-term health problems related to pregnancy and birth among a substantial proportion of women. Her scientific endeavors have played a major role in raising awareness with policy makers and health professionals.|Over the last 10 years, she has also made a significant contribution in long-term childbirth-related health problems and safer birth in the developing world. |
