Dr. Caroline Hill FMedSci
Deputy Research Director
The Francis crick institute
Elected Fellow 2019
Caroline Hill is a Senior Group Leader at the Francis Crick Institute and is a world leader in the TGF-ß signalling field. Her work has had a huge impact on understanding how cell communication, through signal transduction, drives diverse developmental and disease processes. Her work has strongly influenced current thinking on how deregulated TGF-ß family signalling leads to cancer, fibrosis and the Marfan-related syndromes. She has recently demonstrated the critical importance of spatiotemporal TGF-ß signalling during embryonic development and insights from this work have led her to a major translational endeavour, developing new therapies for pancreatic cancer.
