Professor Anna David FMedSci
Anna David is Professor of Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine at University College London. She has made internationally ground-breaking contributions to developing novel diagnostic imaging, tests and therapies for severe life-threatening congenital and obstetric complications, to improve outcomes for pregnant women and their babies.
She established the EVERREST consortium of five international academic health science centres and an industrial partner translating a novel therapy for early-onset fetal growth restriction to clinic. Professor David’s imaging research has lead to a breakthrough in understanding how cervical trauma increases spontaneous preterm birth risk after late-labour stage Caesarean birth.
She also established the UCL Centre for Prenatal Therapy, the first UK centre performing open fetal surgery treating congenital defects before birth.
