Sarah Walker is Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology at both the University of Oxford and University College London. Sarah has designed complex innovative trials to successfully and efficiently answer multiple clinically-relevant questions, and hence change policy. She has been at the forefront of identifying how pathogen whole genome sequencing can be used to improve antimicrobial prescribing decisions by enhanced microbiology workflows in the NHS ensuring more efficient identification of infecting pathogens and the use of electronic health records. Her leadership of projects in health economics, and complex behaviour change interventions, illustrates her skills in tackling the full spectrum of the infectious disease challenge.
