Professor Andrew Shennan OBE FMedSci
Andrew Shennan, Professor of Maternal and Foetal Health at King’s College London, is an international leader in preterm birth and hypertension in pregnancy with a focus on antenatal and intrapartum trials. His transdisciplinary research spans the translational pathway implementing in national and international settings. He has led the NIHR National Reproductive Health and Childbirth Specialty group, becoming the leading specialty for recruitment, and subsequently South London Research network for all specialties.
He is author of the NHS England preterm birth guidance and was chief advisor to the House of Lords Preterm Birth Committee.
His research has had a transformative impact on policy, strategy, guidance, and practice in the UK and globally.
