Laura joined the Academy in October 2023 to lead on core international policy activities and networks. Prior to joining, she worked for almost six years as a researcher at the Nuffield Trust health policy think tank where she worked on a broad range of quantitative and qualitative projects related to health and social care with special expertise in international research. Laura also worked as a research assistant in Child Public Health at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf, Germany. In addition, she has years of experience working for mental health charities in both professional and voluntary capacity, focussing on suicide prevention, social inclusion, and school-based anti-stigma programmes.

Laura holds an MSc in Mental Health Service & Population Research from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience, King’s College London, and a BSc in Psychology with Sociology from the University of Hull.
