The 2015 Winter Science Meeting

Thank you to everyone who came to the Winter Science Meeting 2015!

We had a fantastic day, showcasing some amazing science being conducted by our Starter Grant award holders across a range of specialities. Over 50 Starter Grant awardees attended the day and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

We had a number of competitions and congratulations to the winners:

  • Dr Tom Bird from the University of Edinburgh on his research into liver regeneration using stem cell therapy (the Oral Plenary prize).
  • Dr Chris Gale from Imperial College London on his research into making clinical trials more efficient (the 'Research in 3' prize).
  • Dr Christian Lambert from St George's University of London on his research into using imaging techniques to greater understand the connectivity within deep brain regions (the poster prize).
  • Dr Manish Sadarangani from the University of Oxford for his ability to communicate his research on the body's immune response to novel vaccines effectively to a lay audience (the communications prize).

We will strive to make the next 2016 event even better and continue to support clinical lecturers in their research goals. The registration for next year's event will open in January 2016 so please watch this space for updates and see you next year.
