Round 2 of Springboard opens

Round 2 of the Academy of Medical Sciences Springboard scheme is now open for applications.

We are pleased to announce that the Springboard scheme is now open for applications. The scheme is open to newly-independent biomedical researchers from participating institutions.

Springboard provides up to £100,000 for 2 years towards research costs and professional development, and access to the Academy’s acclaimed mentoring and career development programme.

This is the second round of the scheme, which has already supported 19 researchers across 13 institutions, with grants totalling over £1.8 million.

Each participating institution can put forward up to three candidates. Interested applicants should first contact their local Springboard Champion to express their interest in the scheme and find out how their internal selection will operate. Selected candidates will be asked by their institutions to apply to the Academy through a two-step application process (step 1: eligibility check; step 2: full application). Applications will be made via the Academy's online grant management system: Flexi-Grant.

The deadline for eligibility check forms will be 5.00pm 19 October and that for full applications will be 5.00 pm, Monday 5 December 2016.

For more information, including eligibility and how to apply, please visit our grants pages.
