INSPIRE scheme opens for applications

The third round of the INSPIRE small grant scheme is now open for applications. All veterinary and medical schools (recognised by the General Medical Council) that do not hold an INSPIRE grant are eligible to apply.

INSPIRE is a UK-wide initiative designed to engage medical and dental undergraduates with research. In 2016, the INSPIRE scheme was expanded to include veterinary students.

Key elements of INSPIRE include strengthening local, regional and national student research networks; sharing experiences and resources; and fostering a research culture in all clinicians entering the NHS or veterinary practice, not just those with an interest in pursuing a career in academic medicine.

The basic level of funding is £10,000 per School, covering a period of one year. If a joint bid is successful, it will receive a grant of up to £10,000 per School involved.

The deadline for applications is 5pm (GMT) on 9 May 2016. For more information and an application form, please visit the INSPIRE section of our website.
