Academy President meets with Chancellor of the Exchequer

Presidents of the four national academies have met with George Osborne (Chancellor of the Exchequer) and David Willetts (Minister of State for Universities and Science) to emphasise the importance of investing in research to support economic growth.

The meeting was part of the Academy's ongoing programme to promote investment in medical research and training which includes a joint statement from the National Academies, and a response to a consultation on government strategic priorities for science and research funding.
