Professor Faraneh Vargha-Khadem is Professor of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at the Institute of Child Health, University College, London. She is highly regarded internationally for her pioneering research on cognitive and behavioural deficits, and their neuropathological correlates, in children who have sustained brain injury early in life. She has made a number of remarkable discoveries regarding the neural bases of verbal and non-verbal intelligence, speech and language, and episodic and semantic memory.
