We are extremely grateful to our supporters who have pledged to donate to the Academy in their Will. This page provides a guide for those who are interested in joining our most esteemed supporters.
You can leave a gift in your will to the Academy by either:
• Including a clause in your existing Will. This is an option when creating or changing your Will. Click here to view suggested wording.
• Completing a Codicil form. This allows you to add a clause to an existing Will at any time and becomes a legal document when signed in the presence of two adult witnesses (not relatives). You can download the Academy’s suggested Codicil form here.
We always recommend consulting a qualified solicitor when drafting or making changes to your Will. Please contact email@example.com for more information or to discuss your wishes in further detail.
If you choose to leave a donation to the Academy, it is necessary to include our name, our address and our registered charity number in your bequest:
The Academy of Medical Sciences, 41 Portland Place, London W1B 1QH
Charity No. 1070618
Company No. 3520281, Registered in England
We wish to acknowledge every donation pledged in a will. If you let us know your intentions you will help us to plan for the future.
Leave a share of what’s left of your estate when all costs and other legacies have been paid.
Leave a specific sum of money. It is advisable to index-link the gift to inflation.
Leave the gift of particular assets, such as shares, property or other physical items.
Choose the Academy to be an ultimate beneficiary of specific assets, but ensure they are first available for others in their lifetime.
In memoriam donations
Instead of funeral flowers, mourners can be asked to make a donation in your memory. We acknowledge all donations and for privacy, we do not disclose the gift amounts.
